The cycling initiative
City Turtles Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation working to create practical, community-led solutions for a more sustainable, inclusive and responsible society. The Foundation focuses on initiatives that address everyday challenges through mobility, environmental awareness, education and community participation.
The Foundation believes that meaningful social impact does not always require large interventions. Simple, practical solutions—when designed well and implemented consistently—can improve access to opportunities and create lasting change.
One of its key initiatives is Pedal Mission, a bicycle donation and redistribution movement that collects unused bicycles and makes them available to students, daily-wage workers and economically disadvantaged individuals. The initiative particularly focuses on communities where distance and lack of affordable transport can become barriers to education, employment and everyday mobility.
Through its work, City Turtles Foundation seeks to bring together individuals, businesses, institutions and communities to contribute resources, knowledge and participation towards projects with measurable social and environmental value.
The objectives of City Turtles Foundation include:
